Should Never Wear With White Pants

Now that summer is officially here, you can break out your white pants, shorts, and dresses. The only problem: what to wear underneath. Obviously, wearing black or brightly colored underwear under a pair of white shorts is a surefire way to show off your taste in delicates. But white isn’t a good choice either.

It seems rational that if you want your underwear to not show through your pants, you should make them the same color. But as you can see on TV personality Sam Faiers (above left), white underwear worn under white clothing just looks more opaque and therefore more visible.

So, what should you wear instead? The answer is simple: nude underwear. Instead of standing out, nude underwear blends into your skin tone, effectively making it invisible. Next time you’re at the department store, snag a few seamless pairs in your color. In no time, you’ll be rocking white as well as Irina Shayk (right).

25-year-old Van is a part-time designer and restaurant hostess who operates her own online store and teaches sewing classes on the side. At least, for now. Who knows what the future could hold for her? She’s obviously extremely talented and inventive. If she can do all that with toilet paper, imagine what she can do with actual fabric!

We’ve all been there, standing in front of the closet, with literally no idea what to wear, cursing all your clothes yet knowing full well that you have way too many clothes. Apparently, women spend an average of 17 minutes per day deciding what to wear—it sounds small, but adds up quick.

In fact, in just a year, that quarter of an hour each day amounts to four days of time spent on figuring out which shirt will work with the weather, if those pants match that top and if the day will call for proper walking shoes or painful yet glamorous heels. Yikes! We empathize, don’t worry. These are the 17 thoughts that we’ve all had while staring into the wardrobe abyss.
